Yara Itani is a humanitarian and social worker from Lebanon with experience in gender, protection, and community engagement. She holds a bachelor’s degree in social work from Saint Joseph University of Beirut and a Diploma in Humanitarian Crises at the same university.
She is the Stakeholder Engagement Officer at the MENA Coalition on Youth, Peace and Security, a network of 30 youth-led organisations and 100 young peacebuilders from the Middle East and North Africa. In this role, she crafts partnership strategies, facilitates cross-sector dialogues, and amplifies the voices and lived experiences of conflict-affected youth; ensuring their inclusion in regional decision-making processes.
At the Bundeskanzler-Helmut-Schmidt-Stiftung, Yara is a CrossCulture Programme Fellow within the European and International Politics Programme, where she contributes to the Gen P(eacebuilder) project, focusing on youth participation in peacebuilding and advancing the UN Youth, Peace and Security agenda.
