Dates and times: Public guided tours in DGS can be found in our calendar of events. The tours are simultaneously translated.
This offer is aimed at groups who would like to visit the exhibition as part of an orientation course. The interactive guided tour in simple language deals with content that prepares for the “Living in Germany” naturalisation test. We are happy to provide material specially developed for this purpose.

This guided tour brings history to your home. As part of the project “Bei Anruf Kultur” project, we offer guided tours of our exhibition “Schmidt! Living Democracy” on the phone. The one-hour tour allows you to experience the exhibition from home in a small group, ask questions and talk to the guide. You will receive your dial-in details for the telephone tour when you register.
You can find current dates in our events calendar and at https://www.beianrufkultur.de.
Registration: You can register directly in the dates in the programme at https://www.beianrufkultur.de/programm or by calling 040 209 404 36.
Please note: During the tour, you don't have to worry about making disturbing noises: you will be silenced by the technology and then reactivated for the Q&A sessions.
On the barrier-free website www.beianrufkultur.de for more information on the free offer to experience culture throughout Germany.
“Bei Anruf Kultur” is a joint initiative of the Hamburg agency grauwert and the Hamburg Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (BSVH).
We offer a tactile suitcase for every tour on request. The “archive to experience” contains many objects from Helmut Schmidt's life. Visitors can feel Helmut Schmidt's Elbe pilot's cap, as well as a figure by the sculptor Ernst Barlach.
