BKHS Magazine | „For a Just Democracy!“
Fourth edition of BKHS Magazine presents important aspects “For a Just Democracy!”
Democracies around the world are facing enormous threats. A growing number of wars, geopolitical rivalries, the increasingly acute climate crisis, social and economic inequalities and rapid technological development are jeopardising democratic cohesion. A positive democratic vision for overcoming these challenges is therefore becoming increasingly important.
With this in mind, the motto of BKHS Magazine #4 is “For a Just Democracy!”. Together with our diverse group of authors, we identify success factors for a just democracy that is resilient against the numerous threats putting democracies under strain. Featuring academics, think tank experts, politicians, activists, and artists, the magazine offers a range of perspectives and recommendations. These include, for instance, renewing our commitment to open, inclusive dialogue, reinvesting in local politics and communities, redefining the role of government in the economy, and responding to the warning signs of creeping authoritarianism. Through essays, poems, images, and other formats, the contributors provide both thought-provoking insights and calls to action.
